Getting Your Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard®
How do I apply for a Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard®?
To apply online, click here, or call the Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® application hotline at 877-456-7750.
How long will it take to process my application?
In most cases, it takes 7 to 10 days. However, it may take up to 30 days to process your application.
What do I receive when my account is approved and opened?
In two separate mailings, you will receive:
- Your Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® with your Credit Card Agreement and Pricing Addendum
- Your Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® Welcome Pack
Do I have to activate my card?
Yes, your account becomes active once you call 888-313-5464 from the phone number that you provided on your application to confirm receipt. You will not be able to use your new card(s) until you make this call and confirm receipt of your card(s).
Can I have a second cardholder on my account?
You can have additional authorized users (not joint account holders) with cards on your account. Your additional authorized users will share your credit limit, and you'll be responsible for all of their transactions. We'll only take instructions from you, the principal cardholder, but we can give out information to the other cardholders on your account. Please keep in mind that you will need to call to activate your additional cardholders' cards.

Can I transfer my balance from more than one of my existing cards?
Yes, you can transfer balances from other credit and store cards, up to your credit limit, and as long as each balance transfer request is for more than $100. Fees apply.
Does transferring a balance automatically close my other account?
No, you must contact the other card company in writing.
Can I use my Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® to pay monthly bills automatically?
Yes, monthly bills (such as membership dues, utilities, cell phone service, Internet service, cable TV, and subscriptions) can be paid automatically with your Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard®. Just call your providers directly to set up these automatic payments, and to find out details about making payments with a credit card.
Save yourself the hassle of mailing multiple checks and keeping track of all of those due dates, and you'll earn reward points because those payments count as purchases! These automatic payments are a great way to make your reward points add up fast—and you'll only have to make one payment each month to your Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® account.
How do I get cash with a Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard®?
You need a Personal Identification Number, or PIN. To request a PIN for an existing account, call Customer Service at 888-325-9565.
You can obtain a cash advance at any ATM that accepts MasterCard®—just like you would use a regular ATM card. Also, some banks that accept MasterCard will give you a cash advance at the teller window.
Cash advances are calculated at the APR disclosed in your Credit Card Agreement from the transaction date (there is no grace period on interest and you will pay a cash advance fee and finance charge). Cash advances do not earn Fred Meyer Rewards® points and cannot exceed the cash limit as shown on page one of your statements.
What if I forget my PIN?
If you do not remember your PIN, you should call Customer Service to request a new, randomly selected PIN. For security purposes, Customer Service does not issue the PIN to you over the phone. You should receive your new PIN within 7 to 10 business days of your request.
How can I make a name change on my account?
If you would like to make a name change on your account, please mail us a signed letter (printed or typed) to Customer Service that includes your account number, old name, new name, signature, and the reason for the change. For name changes, the cardholder must provide legal documentation, such as a marriage license or a divorce decree. Send your request and documentation to:

Secure Online Purchasing is free to all Fred Meyer Rewards® MasterCard® account holders.

Once a month, after you've received your statement, you can choose to pay the minimum payment due or any other amount you want—up to the full balance. Payments less than the full balance may incur finance charges.
How is my minimum payment calculated?
If your new balance is $10 or less, your minimum amount due will be the new balance. Otherwise, it will be the greater of (i) $10 or (ii) equal to the total billed finance charges (excluding balance transfer fees, cash advance fees, and foreign transaction fees), and any billed late payment fees, returned check fees, over the credit limit fees, and 1% of the new balance. Any amount past due and any amount over your total credit limit or cash credit limit may be added to the minimum amount due. Your minimum amount due, exclusive of finance charges, will be rounded to the nearest whole dollar.

Back to TopRates and Charges
Is there an annual fee?
No.
Will the interest rate stay the same?
This is a variable rate account and your APR will vary based on the value of the prime rate. Your APR may change monthly if there is a change in the prime rate.
How do you calculate my interest?
Interest accrues on purchases, balance transfers, and cash advances from the date of the transaction; however, you have an interest-free grace period on purchases, only if you pay your entire new balance in full each month, on or before your payment due date. There is no grace period for balance transfers or cash advances, even if the new balance is paid in full each month.
Will I pay a finance charge on purchases if I pay the balance in full every month?
No, you won't. There is a grace period for purchases.
Do I get charged a fee for cash advances?
Yes, up to 3% of the amount advanced, but not less than $10 or more than the greater of $20 or 5% of the transaction for certain cash equivalent transactions.
Back to TopDefinitions
What is an ATM?
ATM stands for Automated Teller Machine. ATMs are cash machines that allow you to withdraw cash using your card when you enter your PIN number.
What is a PIN?
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a four-digit code known only to you. It allows you to obtain cash advances from ATMs. We strongly recommend that you never give your PIN to anyone else.
What does variable rate mean?
A variable rate means that the interest rate charged on your outstanding balance may vary or change monthly. The variable rate on your card account may be reset on the first day of each billing cycle by adding an index to a margin for each feature. The index is the prime rate published in the northeastern edition of The Wall Street Journal in its "Money Rates" table on the first day of that billing cycle or two days prior to the closing of that billing cycle, whichever is higher.
What is a prime rate and how is it figured?
The prime rate is one of the key lending rates used by financial institutions in the United States. The prime rate used to calculate the interest due on your account is published daily in the "Money Rates" section of The Wall Street Journal.
